FAMOUS PEOPLE!!!

As I've made abundantly clear, I have never been to any type of event like the Clip Film Festival.  I really didn't know what to expect.  Some of my initial questions were along the lines of (1) Are films made by students or pros?  (2) Do just folks from the Bay Area contribute?  (3) Does anyone famous actually take part in this?

So... I did some research.  Um... HELL YEAH!

I've done some net surfing, and found out how really bad ass the festival is!  I don't think he'll actually be there, but Bob Hoskins (Who Framed Roger Rabbit, Hollywoodland, Mrs. Henderson Presents, etc.) starred in "Ruby Blue", one of the films that I'm looking forward to catching.  THAT'S PRETTY COOL IN MY BOOK!  I mean, this guy has been nominated for an Academy Award!  I'm betting it will be something to remember.

I just wanted to check-in with you all and let you know what I've found so far - I thought it was worth sharing.  Peace and love - Torre

THE TRUMAN SHOW

WOO!  I would like to take a second to tell you about the newest addition to my family; a black and white toy poodle named Truman (Tru, for short).  Now, not only will I be in a car for 20 hours with 2 Great Danes, I'm throwing in a little potty training as well.  He is really sweet and I'm very excited.   I think Sammy and Buttercup love their new adopted brother, too!  Now we'll have a range of family pets that will be modeling our collars and leashes for you guys (don't forget to take note of your baby's neck size prior to coming to the festival - we'll have a booth, and the proceeds go to the Clip Film Festival!!!)

At least I know what the dogs are wearing - on the other hand, I am hopeless.

SURGE & SUGAR!

I've been doing some reading about the events that I'll be participating in during the Clip Film Festival.  Turns out there are some huge parties going on the last weekend - SURGE and SUGAR, some of the biggest parties in Tampa.  Bridget told me that it'll be an amazing time, and so far she's right on the money about most things.  I really am starting to worry about what to wear though.  I thought I would have a couple more weeks to figure things out.  And all this focus on dieting has actually made me addicted to ice cream and I'm pretty sure I'm expanding instead of contracting.  Whoops - staying clear of the swimsuit aisles...  I don't even know what the weather will be like - I haven't been anywhere near a beach in years!  I can't wait to see the ocean again!

Florida, HERE I COME!!!!

My life has reached a state of utter chaos; in the best way possible.  I found out last week that I'll be heading down South a little sooner than I had expected (so much for that diet... oh well).  I'm heading down to Florida this coming Tuesday.  OMG!!!!  It still hasn't fully sunk in.  Ahead of me lies over 1,000 miles of road and freeway... just me and the slobber twins.  But it's all well worth it; every mile and doggy pit stop I make brings me closer to the Clip Film Festival.  My horizons are well on their way to being widened.  Just call me "Her Royal Blogness".

OMG!!! OMG!!! OMG!!! I'm leaving the sticks!

At 23, my idea of a good time is a case of Natty (Natural) Light and a bonfire.  Welcome to Chillicothe, Ohio.  (I think I learned how to pee standing-up at, like, 12.  And yes, I'm a girl.)  Good news is, that won't be the pinnacle of my cultural experiences after next month.  Torre Choon is busting out of Ohio and heading down to Tampa, FL for the Clip Film Festival.  (Excuse me for a moment - *pause* AHHHHHHH!  Holy !@#$!!!!!

I guess I should give you a quick run down of the sequence of thoughts running through my head immediately after my boss told me I was going to be a part of the Clip Film Festival:

1.  My butt is WAY too big to have a bunch of celebs and other people looking at it!
2.  What the heck do you wear to one of these things?  (I must admit, I'm intimidated by the glamorous gay fashionistas - they KNOW their threads!  I, on the other hand, do not!  I wear bag-lady thrift-shop clothes, and not the almost-cool Olsen-twin kind...).
3.  Could someone please tell me what a gala is?  Is it like the prom?

I've been coming out of my skin ever since I heard the news that I'm going, and it makes me proud that by not giving-up and being true to myself, I have helped to make attending something fantastic like this possible!  (I come from a town that would be a ghost-town if the local paper mill shut down - landing a job as cool as this one is about as likely as Paris Hilton showing-up at our county fair!)

I am officially a PA (Production Assistant), but am really Bridget Cline's "Girl Friday", and she's my fairy-godmother (well, maybe a little like "The Devil Has Big Dogs").  She and I will be driving from Ohio to Florida in an old Jeep Grand Cherokee, loaded with collars and leashes to help raise money for the Film Festival.  (Oh, yeah, and we'll be accompanied by the two biggest drooly-dogs on the planet!  Buttercup and Sammy, Great Danes and Professional Love Sponges, will be navigating on the journey).

This is just one of the many adventures coming-up in my *finally* charmed life, and I'll be keeping you posted on getting-ready, dieting, all of it!  I think I'll go eat some celery - talk to you soon!
